GURSTON HAS THE NORM - AND THE RAIN...

The second visit of the Tran-X British Hill Climb Championship to Gurston Down this year saw a close win for Graeme Wight Jnr in the first run off, but only by a slim tenth of a second ahead of Tim Coventry who is driving better and better as the season goes on. However, in the second run off, there was a rain shower after the two dual driven cars had gone up the hill and therefore the others struggled - except Simon Durling who revelled in the wet conditions in the Gould which he has never driven in the wet before.

Rob Turnbull had bad news when attempting his second class run when the crown wheel and pinion or input shaft broke. If it is the former he may be able to get along to the next round, but if it is an input shaft then things may be different, but all the same we hope that the sandals.com supported car will be back with us soon.

Allan Warburton did a bit of damage to his rapid Dallara Gould 2 litre, and is an unlikely for Prescott, as is Kelvin Jouhar's MP62 which did a wall of death down through Hollow.

The series now moves on to Prescott for the Gold Cup meeting over the weekend of September 1st and 2nd where the series will be looking forward to more of the same glorious weather that greeted the series on June 24th.
