WIGHT Jnr DOUBLE TOPS AGAIN!

Graeme Wight Jnr did not give the others a single chance to get a look in at Harewood's July meeting of the British Hill Climb Championship. Two wins from the day has given him a further 20 points to continue to lead the championship after eight rounds so far this summer.

Chasing him in both run offs was Roger Moran and Tims Coventry and Moran up there too. Martin Groves was up there with the ATOL, but the star moves of the day have to go to Oliver Tomlin in the 2.8 MP58 for 8th in the first run off and Chris Merrick really getting to grips in the MP72 for 6th in the 2nd run off.

Christian Mineeff had a couple of sets of points but the runs were probably not as exciting as his motorhome catching light on Saturday afternoon with a small fire ensuing. Steve Owen was 7th in the first run off in his OMS with fellow smaller engined runner Ian Chard getting the last point in his 1600. Rob Turnbull failed to start in the morning run off after a loose wheel prevented him from leaving the line although he bagged a 7th in the afternoon.

Shelsley Walsh is next weekend and we all look back to two weeks ago when Graeme Wight Jnr sped to a new outright hill record - the only one of the season so far - with 25.28 seconds up the 1000 yard hill. Join us here next week for more news on the unfolding action in the British Speed Hill Climb Championship.
