TURNBULL TAKES WIN IN NEW GOULD
CHAMPIONSHIP GETTING TIGHT AT THE TOP
Rob Turnbull took his debut win of the season today at the Channel Island venue of Bouley Bay in Jersey, 0.35 secs ahead of Adam Fleetwood in the first round of the day. However it was Fleetwood who fought back in the afternoon to take his 8th win of the season, and thus close in on second placed man in the championship Tim Mason who in turn closed in on championship leader Graeme Wight Jnr by 2 points.
With 13 points now covering the top three in the championship it is getting mighty difficult to say who is going to come out on top come the end of the 34 round season. Remember that there are 28 rounds to count from those 34 rounds and Fleetwood has essentially dropped those six already, whilst Mason and Wight Jnr have currently got 5 weak scores. They all have there strengths going into this end of the season with Fleetwood out to prove he is just the quickest in the new for 03 Gould. Wight Jnr has the car and the experience over the remaining rounds, whilst Mason has to drive with his head down for seconds and thirds, and maybe the odd win. If Mason does this without any car problems hell be very strong. The other two have quicker cars, but are pushing each other very hard indeed and cannot afford an off with the next few rounds in quick succession.
The next round is in two days time at Val des Terres in Guernsey.
