Adam Fleetwood by Nick Barnes A stunning performance by Ben Butterfield in glorious Scottish sunshine, demonstrated that his, alleged, off season investment in a pre-frontal lobotomy, is reaping its just rewards. His time of 38.84 in a 2.0L car was simply an amazing effort to net 3rd place in the first run-off.

A meeting organised with the usual Celtic efficiency produced two surprising non qualifiers for the first run-off. Simon Durling who by is own admission, just drove too slowly following a practise spin at Junction and Adam Fleetwood who tried too hard and was caught out by the infamous East Brae.

White Jnr, as usual at Doune, was in a class of his own, took the ten points from Tim Mason and the flying Butterfield. Roger Moran led a close packed following nine, less than a second covering the remaining points scores, to take fourth.

Graeme Wight Jnr by Nick Barnes Order was restored for the second run-off with Durling and Fleetwood Jnr qualifying comfortably. Young Adam produced an impressive performance on his first visit to the hill with the big car and was deep into the 37's, leading by a substantial margin with only Wight Jnr to run. A double for Jnr was denied, however, by comprehensive argument with the unforgiving Doune walls at the first turn. Time will tell if they can fix it in time for Loton.
